Two weeks in the making

So it has been approximately two amazing weeks in Kamogawa and I have met a solid group of awesome people. I've yet to fully explore the city due to the need to make my apartment more "homey" and I find myself ending up at Beisia and Aeon almost every day @_@... Beisia is the local grocery/random item store and reminds me much of the Walmarts from back home and Aeon is a multi-story, sell everything store, consisting of a hodgepodge of small shops and a main supermarket. They both sell lots of cheap stuff and heaps of prepared food, which can easily decimate your bank balance if you aren't careful. If you didn't know, there is a huge market for prepared foods in Japan and they flood the Conbinis (cone-been-ee, convenience stores). There are literally about a million (OMG) different prepared foods that are super cheap, yet unremarkably delicious! To top it all off, when you purchase your gourmet combini dinner from 7-11, they will ask if you want it heated up (if they say something after you buy your food, just say yes, it's totally awesome). After a quick "hai!" the worker will take your food and place it into this mysterious black box adorned with ancient inscriptions and begin chanting to the sun god. 30 seconds later you receive your dish with all of the proper eating utensils, warmed to a staggering 90,000 degrees Celsius. I have been trying to cook my own meals, however combini food is a force to reckoned with.

Order food, magic box, and voila!
It basically goes something like that o.o... quite amazing.
